It is renowned for it's majestic mountains scenery and picturesque valleys all over the world. In a country of such outstanding, natural beauty, the Kaghan & Naran Valleys must rank as one of the Paksitan's most bautiful regions. With its mountains,forests, lakes,waterfalls and high meadows, it is perfectly a paradise on earth. The Kaghan valley is bounded on the east as well on the southern side by Azad Jammu & Kashmir, on teh north by Gilgit Baltstan and on west by Kohistan. The altitude in the valley ranges from 884 meters at Balakot to 5,291 meters at Malika Parbat, the highest pek in the valley. The valley features pine forest,alpine meadows, crystal clear lakes and cool mountain streams, Kunhar River, the main feature of the valley is famous for its TROUT fish. The river meanders its way through the whoel family, and is the perfect river for trout fishing and white water rafting. the swift and foaming river is the life line of kaghan valley. Kunhar is stocked with delicious brown and rainbow trout which is considered to be the best thoughout the sub-continent. Nestled along the banks of the river are the towns of Balakot, Paras, Mahandari, Kaghan & Naran. Kaghan Valley is also renowned a the "The Valleys of Lakes" It has some of Pakistan's most beautiful and popular lakes, which are confined to the upper part of the valley. The fabled Lake Saiful Maluk is valley's most popular tourist destination. Others include Lulusar, Dudipatsar, Saral and Aansu Lake. Many other lakes in the upper part of the valley have yet to be explored.
